This calendar features WGSC events as well as fiber arts-related events from our members and the greater community. If you’d like to submit a local fiber arts event or meeting to the calendar, please fill out the form to the right. All submissions are welcome and will be reviewed within 2-3 days of receipt.
NO Design Pop-Up @ Kulshan Container Village
NO Design will be back at Kulshan Trackside/Portal Container Village tufting some magical wool rugs from June 11th-22nd. Drop on by to learn about tufting and get an incredible handmade rug of your own!
Silk Painting Class at NW Yarns

Join Ms. Rachel Simpson in this Silk Painting class. Rachel is an experienced art educator who we are excited to have at Northwest Yarns for the first time! Students will design, paint, and set their painting to make their own flag or handkerchief. To begin with, you will choose a pattern design from the collection provided, or you can create your own 10"x10" size design (ahead of time is best). We'll trace your design onto the silk with a resist and then paint on the dyes, which will then flow out to the resist lines. The dyes are then set with washing and ironing to become permanent and ready for you to take home. All materials are provided for this class. Northwest Yarns will have many of the materials for sale if you would like to practice your craft at home!
Materials needed: Dress for mess! Please bring a pencil and paper. You may also want to bring a snack or water bottle of your own.
